A fabulous tea cup and saucer, dating to c1794, with running roses in oblong gilt lined reserves, with further studies in oval reserves by Derby's foremost artist, William Billingsley "The Rose Painter." All set on an attractive salmon ground, featuring gold stars and raised white enamel dots.
Derby's Tea Pattern 269, puce marked and with gilder's number 8 for William Longden on both cup and saucer. Minor rubbing to the gilding of the cup rim, otherwise excellent condition.
