A fabulous Chelsea gold anchor dish, in the style of the Mecklenburg-Strelitz service, c1760, gloriously painted with flowers, along with panels of mazarine blue featuring gilded and tooled birds on branches of flowers and leaves.
There is net gilding around a large central bouquet, together with smaller sprigs.

The Mecklenburg-Strelitz Service was an opulent Service commissioned by King George III and Queen Charlotte as a gift for her brother, Duke Adolphus Frederick IV.  It signalled a trend, in Europe, away from the traditional dinner and dessert services made of silver, to services of fine porcelain.
Marked with a gold anchor to reverse and has a charming, single, gilded and tooled flower spray, which hides a slight flaw at the foot rim.
