A rare finely potted Worcester tea bowl, decorated in a famille rose pattern and dating to c1770.
In John Sandon's book, "The Dictionary of Worcester Porcelain Volume 1 1751-1851" states "Famille Rose - a palette of colours on Chinese porcelain primarily in the Yongzheng and Qianlong periods. The first use of a thick rose pink enamel disinguishes this form of decoration which was copied extensively in Europe. Worcester only occasionally copied famille rose exactly, often as a direct replacement for a Chinese service."
