A stunning Derby large plate with three glorious flower bouquets by Derby's foremost artist, William Billingsley.
Derby Plate Pattern 80, Newcastle Service.  Phillip's notes on reverse in which he expresses the opinion that the flowers cannot be by Billingsley due to the lack of "long tailed 7."  Unfortunately not all of Billingsley's work was marked with this.
Factory mark and pattern number in puce.  Gilder's number 2 at the foot rim.  Excellent condition.
