A fabulous early Derby pot pourri vase, together with its lid and featuring a bird finial.
There is an attractive pierced rim to the base of the vase, decorated with small applied blue florets, below which are larger flowers of white, purple and yellow, along with their leaves and stems.
Frill decoration to the lower half of the vase, beneath which are further small blue florets. Two mask heads finish off the decoration to the base.
The lid features a beautifully crafted bird finial, along with flowers which match those on the base.
No factory markings but faint patch marks and ground base. Ex J. A. Robinson Collection and Gwen Smith Collection.
There has been professional restoration to the pierced rim of the base and there are the usual losses to flowers, leaves and stems. The bird finial has also had some restoration to the bird's head.
