An extremely collectable pattern, "Jabberwocky", seen here on a fine Derby porcelain trio of coffee can, tea cup and saucer.

Originally known as the "Fine Old Dragon" pattern", the kakiemon pattern "Jabberwocky" is highly sought after and features fantastical winged creatures with turquoise borders and gold highlights. It predates Lewis Carroll’s famous 1864 nonsense poem by nearly a century, but later earned the name due to its mythical dragon motifs.

A very rich pattern, beautiful on display and in excellent condition, other than a little light crazing to the saucer only.

Factory marks in red.
