A beautiful Chelsea gold anchor plate, dating to c1765.   Decorated with a mazarine blue rim, over-gilded with festoons of leaves and tendrils which are finely tooled and burnished and hang from gilt florets. There are white and gilt C-scrolls around the outer rim, which contrast superbly with the blue.
Gilded tongue and dart decoraton to the inside of the rim, with scattered sprigs around the well of the plate and with central urn, decorated with flowers.
Marked with gold anchor.  No stilt marks.  Excellent condition.
