Delightful Chelsea gold anchor caudle cup, c1765.  Beautifully decorated with hand painted studies of fancy birds, perched amongst branches, leaves and berries.  Further birds to the inside base of the cup.  There are two superbly moulded and gilded handles with leafy terminals, enhanced with gilding.  Attractive pinecone moulding to the lower two thirds of the cup.
Marked with gold anchor and having ground foot rim.  Excellent condition, including the gilding.
