A very attractive Chelsea Derby porcelain custard cup and matching cover, dating to c1780.
Both cup and cover are hand decorated with intertwining turquoise husks, interspersed with single pink roses and with scattered sprigs and sprays of summer flowers - the work of renowned artist, Edward Withers.
There is dental gilding around the rims, and a single gilt line around the base of the cup. The cover has a ring handle highlighted in gilt.
Factory mark of crown over D in puce to the base of the cup.
In excellent condition, save for a very faint hairline across the base of the cup handle.
